This handbook is based on the 2007 version of the MCA Norms and Policies and other formation related documents authorized by the MCA General Custodian and the MCA General Council.
Fr. Richard Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher bearing witness to the universal awakening within Christian mysticism and the Perennial Tradition. He is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fr. Richard’s teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy—practices of contemplation and lived kenosis (self-emptying), expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.
This workbook is the formation manual of the MCA. Each lesson contains the particular grace the candidate is seeking in prayer that month and describes a particular Cenacle practice and devotion that the candidate will begin to put into practice that month. Each week provides writings of Fr. Judge or other Cenacle writings that covers more in depth some aspect of the Missionary Cenacle vocation. There are weekend reflections for the four weekends of each month and daily prayer guides for each week.
